Banks and financial service providers value knowing what habits their clients follow. This allows them to tailor products and services. This challenge asks you to build a machine learning model to predict if individuals across Africa and around the world use mobile or internet banking.
This solution will provide insight into people’s financial behavior, which can help financial services providers, including insurance companies and banks, tailor the services they provide their clients.
About IndabaX (deeplearningindaba.com/2021/indabax)
An IndabaX is a locally-organised Indaba (i.e gathering) that helps develop knowledge and capacity in machine learning and artificial intelligence in individual countries across Africa. IndabaX gatherings fall under the Deep Learning Indaba umbrella. It started in 2018 as an experiment in strengthening our machine learning community beyond the annual Deep Learning Indaba, to allow more people to contribute to the conversation on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Each of these IndabaX events is partnered with a local university, and is now working to provide an exciting programme tailored to the needs of their local community. In 2018, IndabaX events were supported in 13 different countries across Africa. In 2019, the IndabaX grew to include 27 countries! The events range from roughly 50 attendees per event, up to some of the larger ones which exceeded 300 attendees each and run over multiple days. The IndabaX 2021 host countries are 🇩🇿 Algeria, 🇨🇲 Cameroon, 🇨🇮 Côte d’Ivoire, 🇪🇬 Egypt, 🇸🇿 Eswatini, 🇪🇹 Ethiopia, 🇬🇲 The Gambia, 🇬🇭 Ghana, 🇰🇪 Kenya, 🇱🇸 Lesotho, 🇲🇼 Malawi, 🇲🇱 Mali, 🇲🇿 Mozambique, 🇳🇦 Namibia, 🇳🇬 Nigeria, 🇸🇳 Senegal, 🇿🇦 South Africa, 🇸🇩 Sudan, 🇹🇿 Tanzania, 🇹🇬 Togo, 🇹🇳 Tunisia, 🇺🇬 Uganda, 🇿🇲 Zambia and 🇿🇼 Zimbabwe.
