Job Description

This is a role for a part-time up to full-time data analyst intern, working remotely. The role focuses on playing a key role in supporting the day-to-day analytics of Zindi. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with Zindi's CTO and Chief Data Scientist. The intern will support the Zindi management team in several different areas as needed and gain exposure to all aspects of the business. That being said, the key technical areas that we are looking for support in are data processing, data visualisation, and data analytics. The candidate should be strong in all these areas, with the expectation that he or she can grow into and learn other data analytics and data science areas.

Role and Responsibilities

Focus on :

  • Planning and setting up ongoing performance reports and dashboards
  • Analysing user data to understand behaviours and trends
  • Presenting insights to business
  • Building predictive models around user behaviour

Provide support generally on the other areas depending on his/her capabilities.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • The candidate must demonstrate a high level of competency in data analytics, with the expectation that he/she will be able to learn and provide support to other areas.
  • Preferred languages: R (strong), SQL (strong), Python (competent)
  • Completed or working towards a degree in a relevant area, e.g. mathematics, statistics, data science or science-related field
  • Tech and data savvy
  • Ability to work independently
  • A good team player
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
