Project management is critical to DataKind’s success—every project or event involves social impact partners, funders, and volunteer data scientists collaborating with DataKind staff to create tools and insights that maximize impact.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Product, the Project Manager (parental leave coverage) will ensure the success of key DataKind programming by managing select partner relationships and overseeing all aspects of project management. The Project Manager will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of projects while ensuring deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.
The Project Manager will support up to 4 projects, two for which are in Kenya, for the period of mid-July to end of November that are part of DataKind’s portfolio of work in Economic Resilience. They will be a cross-functional team member, coordinating projects and deliverables across DataKind. In this role, you’ll be part of the Product team and work closely with our Global Volunteers, Business Development, Communications, and Operations teams, as well as with our project partners.
This is a remote international position open to candidates who reside in Kenya and requires the majority of working hours each day to fall between 8am and 6pm Eastern Standard Time.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the following during the course of the engagement:
