I have wasted a lot resources trying to train my model which takes up to 7 hours and predict the results which taked another hours but colab keep disconnecting and flagging gpu time out am frustrated
I have spent almost 2 weeks wasting my money this is so annoying
I don't have money to buy online
Gpu
I think colab is free and if you want free GPU you can create a Kaggle account and work from there, you can also try datalore (They are offering free one month if you use TRYDATALOREPRO , you don't have to pay anything. I think you can also optimize your model and reduce the time. Try dividing your notebook into multiple processes so that you can import a preprocessed database when you want to train, you can also your s3 arrow to save your database and nothing will be changed. You can make your inference run on CPU, which you can run later. There are so many things you can do. If you are complaining about your time, I think then I should also complain that I have wasted 250 hours, almost one month, but in reality, every time I run into a problem and solve it, I become better at handling things. Last, you can train your, model, on TPU which is faster than GPU by 10 times, its easy n both TF and PT.
Thanks @kingabzpro 🙏🏽. It is true that there are sometimes some issues from the zindi side, but people here are always complaining about something. Well you have the right to complain about your wasted time but do not forget the backstage job zindi is doing to give you the opportunity to work on real-world and new datasets every time.
People complain about loosing their position on the leaderboard asuming their models are not overfitting on the training data.
People complain about the data size
People complain about starter notebooks etc..
In fact, There is no victory without sacrifices. and there is always something to learn from every issue.

@i_am_Zeus_AI Thank God they haven't participated in Driven Data Competition where people have nothing but a dataset. These competitions produce the best of the best with zero complaints. There is no starter notebook or helping hands, if you are bad at machine learning then focus on learning rather than complaining. I am not new, I have this year participated in 65 + competitions and everything I learned was from self-criticism rather than blaming the platform.
