In 2022, only 73% of the global population had access to safely managed drinking water, leaving about 2.2 billion people without it. Based on data from 120 countries, only 56% of water bodies were rated as having "good" water quality. Climate change is expected to increase water stress and exacerbate pollution through rising temperatures and extreme weather. The United Nations warns that inadequate water quality monitoring could put the health and livelihoods of 4.8 billion people at risk by 2030.

For this challenge, your goal is to forecast water quality across rivers, lakes and streams using satellite imagery, weather, and environmental datasets. Your work will help predict water safety for human health, reveal the effects of climate and environmental shifts, and inform data-driven policies to support communities worldwide.
