@Zindi @Organisers Inside training data, the active status value counts looks this way below: train_gdf['Activo'].unique() array([0, 1, 2]). What does this mean if i may ask ? I mean what 0, 1, and 2 signify ?

Discussion 5 answers

This should be a dummy variable 1 active - 0 not active. the 2 is only one record and could be an entry mistake. I will double check with the data creator and get back to you asap

The 'Activo' column indicates the operational status of runways in 2024. A value of 0 means the runway is inactive in 2024, while a value of 1 indicates it is active. If the value is 2, it represents an error. The 'yr' column provides the year each runway was detected, offering additional context for assessing the runway's operational status over time.

@Cabal11 Many thanks for clarifying this. Can you tell me if we're to detect only active runways in the year of analysis specified for each test set? My understanding of the objective is to detect clandenstine runways, whether active or not. Is this accurate?

Thank you for your question. The primary objective of the challenge is indeed to detect active runways, as this information will serve as a foundation for a second phase, where the focus will be on monitoring their status over time. Therefore, for this initial phase, detecting only active runways in the specified year of analysis is correct.

Thanks! Thanks!!
