In my "Submissions" tab, my best Public Score is 0.822222222, and my best Private Score is 0.814285714. Why are the scores shown for me on the leaderboard different?
The scores are usually calculated per submission ......public score is usually 30% of the test data so in this case its 180/600 which means you got 148/180 correct predictions=0.82222222222.while private score is 70% of the test data which is 420/600 so you got 342/420=0.814285714........which is pretty nice.What i think that might be happening is maybe you had selected 2 best submissions before the competition was closed ...this were what were used to rank you on the leaderboard but maybe they werent high as the .8's and unfortunately i don't think it can be changed once the competition is closed
