Can you explain whatthe WER score means? Does a score of 0.97 mean 97/100 or is it really 0.97/100? I would really appreciate your help with this.
It means that out of 100 words, you get 97 wrong.
My first valid submission was only a space (" ") for each ID, and I got a score of 1.0
I see some people with scores higher than 1, even 3 point something, what about that?
Yes, if you have target as
"Hi!"
And you predict
"Hello there!"
That's a score of 2.0
Out of 1 word, you got 2 wrong... :D
