What's the difference between A B C D ?

we have a lot of tifs and data but I can't seem to understand difference between A B C D tifs and how to generate the csv and labels for them
each letter represent a 1/4 of a degree square as explained here
example: 2527A represents the square from 25°->25.5° (latitude) and 27°->27.5° (longitude) so I think it is something like this (visually)
