Dear Participants,
We are inviting participants currently ranked 11th to 30th on the leaderboard to submit their code for review. You have 24 hours from receipt of this message to make your submission. Please note the following:
- Your code must reproduce your leaderboard score
- Solutions that explicitly relied on leaderboard probing — that is, systematically exploiting public leaderboard feedback to optimise predictions rather than building a genuinely predictive model — will be automatically disqualified
- No post-deadline changes to your solution will be accepted under any circumstances
Please send your submission to zindi@zindi.world.
Keep coding! 🚀
Beyond all the competition, congratulations — I think on behalf of everyone — for your clarity and professionalism!
+1
While I think it is the right call, it would have been more transparent and useful to address the probing issue a month ago, when I tried to get an honest answer on the use of it, both in a public chat and in private message. Not explicitly banning it legitimized the leaderboard probing, like it is standard practice in so many competitions.
I personally hope the rules are applied and enforced fairly. Whoever still remains standing on the leaderboard, deserves their win!
