We've been having a wild ride at Zindi. I am hoping to get more competitions out soon. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

I am a huge fan of NLP, it is so interesting, especially around African languages as they are very different from the Indo-European family which most NLP solutions are created on.

I don't have a specialty and if I had to rank on a leader I don't think I'd even make the first page :"). Zindi is my first job so I have learned everything on the job and from code review. My teachers are the community, so thank you to all of you!

If I had to pick a field it would be NLP or Earth Observation, but probably NLP as EO is still a bit overwhelming.

Wow, what a privilege - I think you must have picked up some scary skills through code review and if you hone them a bit you'll definitely place top 10. Heck, I'd avoid comps you are in just to have a better chance. Would you have any appetite to do a kaggle with me? You can learn valuable experience for your day job and have lots of fun and hone those skills also. Now that I remember, ain't you some super theoretical nuclear physisct or something ...
