About DeepEcho
DeepEcho is reinventing fetal ultrasound. Our AI-powered platform gives OB-GYNs real-time decision support, automated measurements, and clear imaging—so every pregnancy receives the same high-quality care, everywhere. We combine one of the world’s largest, richly annotated ultrasound datasets with cutting-edge computer-vision research and a lean, product-obsessed culture.
The Role
As a Junior Data Scientist, you’ll join our imaging intelligence team to help build, train, and deploy computer-vision models that power DeepEcho’s clinical tools. You’ll work alongside experienced researchers and engineers, learning best practices in data handling, model development, and evaluation for real-world medical AI. Your work will directly support model training, validation, and experimentation while
contributing to production-quality pipelines and datasets.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Train and fine-tune segmentation and classification models (PyTorch + Lightning).
- Support data curation and preprocessing for large-scale ultrasound datasets (DICOM, images, videos).
- Contribute to pipeline automation, quality checks, and dataset versioning.
- Evaluate model performance using metrics like dice, mAP, and clinical KPIs.
- Collaborate with senior scientists to debug models and improve inference efficiency.
- Document experiments and share learnings with the wider ML and product teams.
Learning & Collaboration
- Pair with senior teammates to learn model deployment (NVIDIA Triton / TensorRT).
- Participate in code reviews and weekly research discussions.
- Develop an understanding of clinical use cases and how product requirements shape model design.
Minimum Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience (academic or professional) in computer vision or applied machine learning
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (or equivalent deep learning frameworks)
- Strong understanding of CNNs and transformers for image analysis
- Familiarity with dataset handling and visualization (NumPy, OpenCV, Pandas, Matplotlib)
- Comfortable working in Linux, Git, and Docker environments
- Curious, detail-oriented, and excited to learn in a fast-paced startup setting
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with medical imaging (ultrasound, radiology, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud compute (GCP, AWS) and GPU workflows
- Exposure to model deployment, CI/CD, or monitoring tools
- Interest in multimodal learning or contrastive pre-training
Why DeepEcho
- Mission with heart. Your work contributes to better maternal-fetal health worldwide.
- Learn from the best. Work closely with top-tier researchers and engineers.
- Impact from day one. Help build production AI for clinicians at global scale.
- Data that matters. Millions of curated ultrasound frames at your fingertips.
