While at Kenya National Bureau of Statistics I was tasked with collection of census data (worked as Enumerator). I was tasked with the following; i. Identifying boundaries for the Enumeration Areas (EAs), locating all structures and visiting every household to list all the usual members in the EA assigned to them before the enumeration exercise; ii. Ensuring that all the necessary equipment/materials to be used for enumeration are available before the exercise commences; iii. Administering all questions and recording responses on all persons who will have spent the night of 24th/25th August 2019 in each of the households in the assigned Enumeration Area. iv. Obtaining complete and accurate answers and capturing them correctly during the enumeration exercise; v. Forwarding all equipment and questionnaires (used and unused), maps, notebooks and any other materials as directed to the Content Supervisor after the enumeration exercise; vi. Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned by the CSO. Some of the problems encountered was the failure of CAPI software which was used for data collection and reporting, by the use of my computer skills and technical skills I was able to troubleshoot the errors. While here I achieved the following; 1. Trained on the use of CAPI software 2. Teamwork 3. Problem solving skills 4. Interview and communication skills 5. Resilience
