What is the unit of measurement of the depth of the scan?
Data · 1 Mar 2025, 21:16 · 2
The characters in the pattern XXXXXXXX consist of random characters. This information is not relevant to you for this project. The S is the side of the scan. It can be L (left) or R (right) depending on the side from which the scan is performed. The three last characters in the image name are digits. These digits correspond to the depth or layer of the scan.

Hello.

Do anyone know the unit of measurement of the depth of the scan?

Discussion 2 answers

Those last three numbers are an ID of the layer, it does not corresponds to depth, as the average of depth difference between layers is about 3mm.

Thanks Jorge for shharing this information.

I was planning knowing the unit of measurement and based on maximum length of cassava root mentioned in the literature set a default value for the "end" . But knowing that those last three numbers are an ID of the layer and not the depth, I will think differently.
