The dataset includes demographic information such as age and gender, along with location data in the form of district identifiers and/or geographic coordinates for each recorded death. The location information will enables participants to link mortality records to publicly available datasets.
Participants are encouraged to use publicly available climate datasets to enrich the training data. Permitted sources include temperature reanalysis products such as ERA5, rainfall datasets such as CHIRPS, and satellite-derived environmental indicators such as NDVI or land surface temperature.
All external datasets used must be publicly accessible. Participants are encouraged to share links to any external data sources on the competition forum to support transparency and reproducibility.
Some climate features have been downloaded and added to get you started. However you are welcome to download yours. A dictionary of these features is given in downloaded_climate_features_data_dictionary.csv
