External data sources — are they allowed as additional features?
13 Apr 2026, 19:01 · 1

Hi, I wanted to clarify the rules around additional data sources before proceeding further. The rules state: "You may only use the TerraClimate dataset as a source for your predictor variables." My question: Are participants allowed to supplement the TerraClimate features with external publicly available data, such as: - Elevation data (e.g., SRTM via open-elevation API) - Distance to water bodies/roads (OpenStreetMap) - Historical species occurrence records (e.g., Atlas of Living Australia), and other freely available geospatial datasets, or should the model use ONLY the provided TerraClimate TIFF file as the data source? I want to make sure I'm not violating any rules before submitting. Thank you!

Hi, I missed the earlier discussion. Someone asked this question earlier and received a reply. Thanks for the clarification.
