The images in the dataset were captured by placing a smartphone over a microscope to capture the Field of View (FOV) of the blood slide through the eyepiece of the microscope. Along with the image, the slide from which the image was captured, the stage micrometer readings of the microscope, and the objective lens settings were recorded, and a maximum of 40 images was captured from each slide.
This was the 'About' section of dataset. But there is no information regarding micrometer readings, objective lens settings.
Are these even important for Modelling a solution?
If all the images in the dataset were captured using the same microscope and smartphone setup, you can still train a model to detect or classify objects fairly well. But if the magnification varies significantly between 40 images per slide, your The Freak Circus model will struggle with size-dependent features unless you aggressively use scaling enhancement techniques during preprocessing.
