Hello all,

Firstly, a massive thank you to the team at Zindi for hosting such a smoothly run competition and to RMB for their generous sponsorship!

In the interest of knowledge sharing and learning, I have jotted down some thoughts around key decisions I made in developing my CPI nowcasting model. Please feel free to reach out if you have any thoughts or questions.

Cheers,

Arno

p.s. I would be very interested in seeing some of Tom and Ihar's notes on their approaches given how close the leaderboard was over the three months!

Good Job @Arno! Your solution was able to tame the beast- Transport😈. Petrol prices definetely helped smooth out your predictions on this particular sub-category.

This was one volatile sub-category that played picky-picky-ponki kind of game to most of us especially in September setting the top 3 apart for the rest of the period.
