I am a new user to Zindi and I just tried to join the latest hackathon, it is asking me for a secret code and I don't know what it is or where to find it, could someone help me out please?

some hackathons are specific for a certain country, you can not access them unless you have a secret code. I recommend you try other open competitions. You can also take a look in this article as a guideline to participate in zindi competition, here is the link how to enter your first zindi competition
9 of 10 competitions which i try to join ask for a secret code and it's really annoying.

Most hackathons (https://zindi.africa/hackathons) have secret codes, even after they have closed. The secret codes are for hackathons that are for a specific country or community.
However, all competitions (https://zindi.africa/competitions) are open to everyone. If you are new to machine learning and Zindi we recommend you start with one of the Knowledge challenges and reach out on the discussion board if you need help.
